Tuesdays
25th September
What are
my expectations of this project?
To have a clear understand of what is
expected and what we are being asked to do.
Being able to have fun and learn new
things about being on site and how structures are erected.
What was
I involved in today?
Today I was involved in the measuring up
of the St Michaels school area which we will be working on.
What did
I learn today?
I have learned more about the site and
what is required to be done.
Other
comments?
I would be nice to give back to other
school as well. Charity work is a great thing the thought of helping others get
me excited.

Wednesday
26th September
What are
my expectations of today?
I expect to learn quite interesting things
from the health and safety lecture and also to learn a few things from Tsia Studio.
What was
I involved in today?
When materials are limited
things/designing may become hard but it also makes things easier since we have
and know exactly what we working within and how to design.
What did
I learn today?
I learnt that there are so many more
thing/rules to the health and safety than expected.

Thursday
27th September
What are
my expectations of today?
To have a clear understanding of what has
been designed and what should be erected. being able to enjoy myself and have
fun while doing things.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
I experience what it is/how it is to work
on site. Being able to help out with maintenance and also found out how to use
electrical tools.
What did
I learn today?
Today I learnt how to use a drill and also
how to change the lock of a door.

comments?
Even though it was pouring in Grabouw and
not much had been done it was still fun.

Friday
27th September
What are
my expectations of today?
I expect to have a good understanding of
the House Infanta and to see if I will be able to figure out how fixings work
specifically to this structure.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
The exercise was informative in the end
although starting of the exercise and not knowing dimensions or materials make
things a tricky but okay.
What did
I learn today?
How different roof fixings work and the
difference between brick-on-end and brick-on-end.

Diary: Day 5
Monday
1st October
What are
my expectations of today?
I expect our team to get lots more done as
we didn’t get to do so the first day on site because of the rain. Today
provides us good weather conditions to get things done!
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
It was so fun being able to maintain/
retain a deck may sound boring to others but it was so fun since I’ve never
done it before. I love being hands on.
What did
I learn today?
I’ve learned how to use a drill and a
hammer! How also to allow and make drilling screws easier.

comments?
It really is a great experience working on
site and to see how things are erected and by playing a part in it.

2ndOctober
What are
my expectations of today?
I expect to have a greater understanding
of how this steel structure and steel structures in general would/could work.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
It was good. The lecturer had (Alex) was
very helpful and explained thing to us until we understood it.
What did
I learn today?
I learned how steel structures are
erected. How they are stabilised into the ground and what happens with the
footing and foundations when there is brick cladding.

3rd October
What are
my expectations of today?
To be closer to the end result so that the
structure will be completed on time.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
It was amazing!! I was helping out where I
could and that led me to standing the timber slats but wow it is one powerful
machine to work with all day.

I learn today?
I learnt how to use the sanding machine.

4th October
What are
my expectations of today?
I want to understand our new design for
the container screen as not many of us have seen the design.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
I was enlightened. Being able to
understand a structure just by looking at it make you feel good to know that
you are getting somewhere.
What did
I learn today?
Leaned how the screening. Structure will
be working and how it is connected.

Friday 5th
October
What are
my expectations of today?
I expected the screening structure to be done
so that we can just put the finishing touches on it.
How did
I experience the CTD/ on site exercise?
There was a lot to be done and it was very
crowded since both groups were on site so it was a bit tough to get things done
but all was well in the end.
To have patience!
